{"id":250536,"date":"2025-02-05T11:30:44","date_gmt":"2025-02-05T11:30:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.theatregreenbook.nl\/?p=250536"},"modified":"2025-02-13T12:21:12","modified_gmt":"2025-02-13T12:21:12","slug":"celebrating-theatre-green-book-version-2-trialler-success","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.theatregreenbook.nl\/en\/celebrating-theatre-green-book-version-2-trialler-success\/","title":{"rendered":"Celebrating Theatre Green Book Version 2 Trialler Success"},"content":{"rendered":"\n[et_pb_section fb_built=&#8221;1&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.25.1&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; hover_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; hover_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; hover_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; hover_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; sticky_enabled=&#8221;0&#8243;]<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.artsprofessional.co.uk\/news\/newsreel\/leading-performing-arts-organisations-achieve-sustainbility-standard\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Arts Professional: Leading arts organisations achieve sustainability standard<\/a><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b><\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Today, 5th February, 2025, Theatre Green Book is celebrating <\/b>the<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0theatres involved in developing Version 2 of Theatre Green Book achieving Basic standard across all three areas: Productions, Operations and, where they have them, Buildings.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Last June, Theatre Green Book launched Version 2 with updated tools and resources available to theatre and performing arts organisations and individuals aiming to make their Productions, Operations and Buildings more environmentally sustainable.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Theatre Green Book Version 2 was made with feedback and input from theatre makers across the UK, with particular input from Chichester Festival Theatre, English National Ballet, Headlong, The Lowry, The National Theatre, National Theatre of Scotland, Northern Stage,\u00a0 Royal Ballet &amp; Opera, the<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Royal Shakespeare Company<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Wales Millennium Centre, and the Young Vic.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These organisations committed to reaching Basic standard by the end of 2024.\u00a0 Using Theatre Green Book tools to chart their progress, they are now able to confirm they have reached this significant milestone.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe Theatre Green Book is a vital and brilliant resource for us. Embedded across the organisation, our teams use it to identify what their priorities for sustainability are and create their own specific plans. It makes it easy to talk about sustainability with our staff and artists and it breaks down what can feel like a huge challenge into manageable and achievable targets.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><i style=\"font-size: 18px;\">&#8211;<\/i> Royal Ballet and Opera<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><i><\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Achieving Basic in Productions means that at least two-thirds of productions had 50% of materials on stage coming from reused sources, and 65% of materials went on to have a future life, as well as introducing sustainable thinking in the production planning process and considering the impact of technical equipment. For Operations it means planning across six areas of Operations and completing (and beginning to implement) sustainable plans in at least four of these areas, as well as setting up Green Committees. For Buildings it means using the Building Survey Tool to assess a venue\u2019s sustainability and prioritise changes for the future, making a plan to begin working on the Easy Wins.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Feedback and input was also contributed by SAIL and SHIFT, sustainable arts networks in Leeds and Liverpool respectively.
