In May of this year, Society of London Theatre & UK Theatre<\/span> publised<\/span>\u00a0a landmark report revealing the state of UK theatre in 2025 \u2013 from finances and infrastructure to education and community impact. <\/span>Over 37 million people attended the theatre last year \u2013 yet rising costs, falling public support, and ageing venues are forcing even flagship organisations to cut programming, postpone maintenance, and scale back outreach.<\/span>

<\/span>Despite this, their latest member survey shows:<\/span> <\/span>
<\/span>– over 2\/3rds (69%) of theatres are using Theatre Green Book to make their Productions, Buildings and Operations more sustainable<\/span>
<\/span>– 100% would improve the sustainability of their Buildings if they could access the needed capital investment.<\/span> <\/span>
<\/span>
<\/span>This proves how many theatres recognise the importance of embedding greener practices for a viable future, and how innovative and determined our sector is to drive this change despite an incredibly tough context.<\/span> <\/span>
