On Wednesday, May 27, the Zero-Emission Touring theme day took place in FLUOR Amersfoort. The meeting, organized by the Society for Stage Technology (VPT) in cooperation with Theateradvies® bv and Daan Stigter (Programma Duurzame Cultuursector – Kunsten ’92), attracted a diverse group of professionals from the sector, including technicians, producers, suppliers and sustainability officers.
Practical experiences and industry-wide dialogue
Led by moderator Isil Vos, the emphasis of the program was on the daily practice of sustainability. During a panel discussion, drivers from the N2 bus, Pieter Smit and Het Zuidelijk Toneel, among others, shared their first concrete experiences with electric transport and the logistical challenges it poses.
In addition, several experts explained the technical and infrastructural preconditions. Paul Schurink (Showpower), Jacco Patist and Jorg Hogerheijde informed attendees about current developments around charging infrastructure, network technology and the realization of an energy-neutral scene. The common thread through the presentations was that while the transition to zero-emission may involve complex issues, sector-wide cooperation and knowledge sharing are essential to take steps forward.
